Premium, bulk Rooibos tea (Aspalathus linearis)
Discover the naturally caffeine-free tea that supports both the body and the skin from within.
Rooibos is a shrub native exclusively to South Africa’s Cederberg region and is now enjoyed worldwide, often called “red bush tea.” This beloved South African staple has been harvested for centuries by Indigenous Khoisan communities as a daily tonic to soothe digestion, encourage restful sleep and emotional balance, nourish the body, and ease colic in young children. Its caffeine-free nature makes it ideal for any time of day and suitable for long-term use, and it was also traditionally applied topically as a wash to calm irritated or sensitive skin.
♡ Why we love it: Rooibos isn’t valued for stimulation, but for its remarkable gentleness and antioxidant content. It’s rich in unique compounds - especially aspalathin and nothofagin - powerful antioxidants researched for their anti-inflammatory activity and support of cellular health. Rooibos also contains flavonoids, phenols, and minerals like calcium, magnesium, potassium, zinc, and iron, while being naturally low in tannins, giving it a smoother taste that’s easier on digestion.
These qualities make rooibos a tea enjoyed by almost everyone, and especially appreciated by sensitive individuals and children. Its antioxidants help support healthy inflammatory balance, which is why it’s often included in blends for joint comfort, resilience, and recovery, with growing research also suggesting benefits for blood sugar balance.
In skincare, rooibos extract is a standout for sensitive skin. It helps protect against environmental stress and oxidative damage, soothes irritation, and supports anti-ageing care by helping preserve collagen and elastin from early breakdown.
