Discover the naturally caffeine-free tea that supports the body - and the skin - from within.
Rooibos is a shrub native exclusively to the Cederberg region of South Africa, now loved all over the world and often referred to as “red bush tea.” This SA staple has been harvested for centuries by Indigenous Khoisan communities as a daily tonic to soothe digestion, promote restful sleep and emotional balance, nourish the body, and ease colic in young children. Its caffeine-free nature makes it suitable for drinking at any time of day and for long-term use, and it was also traditionally used topically as a wash to soothe skin irritation and sensitivity.
♡ Why we love it: Rooibos isn’t prized for stimulation, but for its antioxidant richness and exceptional gentleness. It’s dense in unique compounds - most notably aspalathin and nothofagin - powerful antioxidants studied for their anti-inflammatory activity and support of overall cellular health. It also contains flavonoids, phenols, and minerals like calcium, magnesium, potassium, zinc, and iron, while being naturally low in tannins, making it smoother, less bitter, and easier on digestion.
These qualities make rooibos a tea suited to almost everyone, and especially loved by sensitive individuals and children. Its antioxidants support healthy inflammatory balance, which is why it’s often included in blends for joint comfort, resilience, and recovery, with emerging research also pointing to support for healthy blood sugar balance.
When it comes to skincare, rooibos extracts are a must-have for sensitive skin. They help defend against environmental stressors and oxidative damage, soothe irritation, and support anti-ageing care by helping protect collagen and elastin from premature breakdown.
