What Is the One Percent Movement?
It started with a simple promise: to give back.
Essentially Natural founded the One Percent Movement with a commitment to donate 1% of sales towards selected nonprofit organisations, charities and community projects.
But we never wanted the movement to stop with us.
We believe that when individuals, businesses and communities come together, even small contributions can achieve something meaningful. Whether it's R20, a donation of much-needed supplies or helping a worthy cause reach a wider audience, every contribution has value.
After all, creating a culture of kindness isn't about how much any one person can give. It's about what we can accomplish when we all give a little.

Through the One Percent Movement, we've had the privilege of supporting a variety of initiatives, often alongside generous individuals, businesses and organisations who share our vision.
Here are just a few examples of what we've been able to do together.
Creating Better Spaces for Children
At Fisantekraal Primary School, we've helped bring practical improvements to everyday school life, from essential kitchen upgrades to trees, shade and play equipment in the school's growing Garden of Faith.
Caring for Our Elderly
Sometimes the simplest necessities make a world of difference. With the generosity of our supporters, we've helped provide toiletries and personal care essentials to frail-care residents at Aristea Home for the Elderly, alongside projects that bring comfort and joy to their surroundings.
Caring for Our Environment
A healthier community starts with a healthier environment. From getting involved in litter clean-ups around the Mosselbank River to supporting the restoration and greening of shared spaces, we've seen the difference that collective effort can make to the places we call home.
Helping Our Four-Legged Friends
Our furry companions deserve kindness too! We've supported Fisantekraal Animal Welfare through pet food donations and improvements to its charity shop, helping strengthen an organisation dedicated to the care and wellbeing of vulnerable animals.

A little from each of us can mean a lot to someone else.
You don't need to make a large donation to make a difference. Every contribution helps us continue supporting the people, organisations and community initiatives at the heart of the One Percent Movement.
General donations go into our shared OPM fund, allowing us to direct support towards selected projects as needs and opportunities arise.

Giving Is About More Than Money
Sometimes the most valuable gift is something you already have.
Over the years, we've been incredibly fortunate to receive generous donations of goods and materials from individuals and businesses.

Where does my donation go?
General donations are received into the One Percent Movement's shared fund and used to support selected charitable organisations and community initiatives. The projects we support vary according to their needs and the opportunities available.
Does Essentially Natural contribute to the movement too?
Absolutely! Essentially Natural founded the movement with a pledge to contribute 1% of sales to selected charitable and community initiatives. Donations from individuals and other businesses are an additional, voluntary way to support the movement.
Is there a minimum donation amount?
Our donation form accepts contributions starting from R20. You can choose one of the suggested amounts or enter your own. Every contribution is appreciated.
Can I donate goods or materials instead of money?
Yes! We welcome enquiries about suitable donations of food, essential supplies, equipment and other useful goods. Please contact Juanita to discuss what you have available and how it might help one of our community projects.
Can my business get involved?
Of course! We welcome support from businesses that share our commitment to giving back. Whether you're interested in donating goods, contributing financially or supporting a particular project, Juanita would be happy to discuss the possibilities.
