Dried Star Anise (Illicium verum) is a highly aromatic spice made from the star-shaped fruit of an evergreen tree native to southwest China. Each dried star is composed of 8 russet brown petal-like sections that form a striking star shape. When dried, the seed pods release an exquisite licorice-like aroma with hints of warm spices like clove and fennel.

Uses & benefits
Some use Star Anise to aid digestion, reduce nausea, and fight respiratory infections like bronchitis. The seeds can also be chewed. Can be used as a face wash for problem skin. For the treatment of scabies and to control lice.

Infusion: 1 teaspoon gently crushed seeds in 1 cup of boiled water. Infuse for 5 – 10 minutes in a covered container. Drink 1 cup three times per day.
