Born from curiosity and a deep love for South Africa’s flora, Pure Indigenous was founded by Tahnia Hook in 2015 under her company, Indigo Trading. What began as one product and a spark of inspiration has blossomed into a collection that celebrates the healing power of indigenous plants and the wisdom of traditional knowledge.

Rooted in South Africa’s soil, spirit, and ancestral knowledge, every blend carries the essence of home: wild, honest, and healing. Guided by the belief that “plants and foods from your immediate region are the most potent healers,” the brand works closely with small-scale farmers. By working hand in hand with farmers and distillers, she ensures that every ingredient reflects the integrity of the land it comes from.
