Honey Everlasting Helichrysum is from a small, aromatic shrub with grey foliage and potent honey-scented summer flowers. The top of the leaves are grey and covered with small soft hairs, while the underneath and stems are covered with dense white woolly hairs. Its fragrant flowers attract pollinating insects and bees. It grows on sandy flats and coastal dunes and inland on south-facing, lower mountain slopes of the southern Western Cape.

Size: 10ml.

  • It is traditionally used in herbal form for asthma, bladder infections, gynaecological disorders, backache, fatigue, stress hypertension, cardiac problems and influenza.
  • Its strongly aromatic properties can be used to keep insects and parasites away. Add to your insect repellent oil blends.
  • The essential oil can be burned in a burner or diffuser for headaches, stress and respiratory problems
  • Indigenous uses: the smoke of the herb is inhaled for headaches and to get rid of evil spirits; used as bedding for people and livestock
  • Common indigenous names: Honey Everlasting (English), Phefo (Sesotho), Impepho (isXhosa), Kooigoed (Afrikaans).
