Frequently Asked Questions

Helpful answers about choosing and using products in this collection.

Are all products in this collection food grade?

Not necessarily. Some cocoa butter or cocoa powder products may be suitable for food use, while others may be intended for cosmetic or formulation use only. Always check the wording on the individual product page before use.

Can cocoa powder be used in soaps or masks?

Some cocoa powders are used in soaps, masks, and scrubs for colour and a chocolatey scent profile, depending on the formula. Always check the product page first to make sure the specific powder suits your intended use.

Why do cocoa butter and cocoa powder vary in colour, aroma, or texture?

Natural cocoa products can vary slightly depending on the source, processing method, and batch. Small differences in scent, colour, or texture are normal and do not necessarily mean the product quality has changed.

Does cocoa butter need to be tempered or handled carefully when melting?

For some applications, yes. Gentle melting is usually preferred, and the exact handling method can matter depending on whether you are using it in food, soap, or body care formulations.

Is cocoa butter the same as chocolate?

No, cocoa butter is the fat portion of the cocoa bean and does not behave like chocolate. It has its own texture and uses, especially in skincare, soap making, and some food applications.
