INCI: Bisabolol

Essentially Natural Bisabolol is a premium, plant-derived cosmetic active distilled from the bark of the Candeia tree and supplied as more than 95% pure (–)-α-Bisabolol. It is an oil-soluble formulation ingredient used in moisturisers, serums, balms, and after-care products where a lighter, more comforting skin feel is wanted. This is the fully natural option in our bisabolol range, with a more botanical sourcing story than fermentation-derived alternatives. Because it is obtained from Candeia bark, it can also be harder to source consistently than more standardised options.

♡ Why we love it: This is the bisabolol we reach for when a formulation calls for a fully natural active with a premium feel and a strong botanical identity. It brings together elegant skin feel, natural origin, and a more specialist ingredient story for higher-end formulations.

This product is certified: Vegan and Beauty Without Cruelty.

Q: How is this different from Alpha-Bisabolol 95%?
A: This version is distilled from Candeia tree bark and is the fully natural option in our range, while Alpha-Bisabolol 95% is the nature-identical, fermentation-derived alternative.

Q: Why is this version considered more premium?
A: It is valued for its fully natural botanical origin, its specific Candeia-derived identity, and its more specialist ingredient story in higher-end formulations.

Q: Why is it sometimes harder to keep in stock?
A: Because it is sourced from Candeia bark rather than produced through a more standardised fermentation route, supply can be tighter and demand can outpace availability.

Q: Is this water soluble?
A: No. It is oil soluble and needs to be used in an oil phase or in a properly emulsified or solubilised system.
