Get rid of toxins

I have organic raised beds with sandy loam soil. Needed organic compost and trusted a supplier. The compost burned and killed my plants. Recently bought activated charcoal from somewhere else and when adding it to my formulations for my face masks, it needed up my batch, which I was informed is probably because of contaminants within the charcoal.
