    Umuthi Palmarosa Essential Oil

    INCI: Cymbopogon martinii

    Umuthi Botanicals Palmarosa essential oil can be used in DIY skin products. It is antiseptic, anti viral, and anti-bacterial, so is good for feet, heel cracks and athlete’s foot. You can use it in skin lotions because it is hydrating and anti-aging, as well as soothing.

    Sizes: 10ml, 30ml.


    • Part used: Dried grass.
      Method: Steam distilled.
      Colour: Pale yellow.
      Consistency: Thin
      Perfumery note: middle.
      Aroma: Fresh, floral, rose like.


      • Palmarosa is so named because of its rose-like scent, also known as Indian geranium for the same reason, they are in no way related.
      • The plant is a tall grass, of the same family as Citronella and Lemongrass.
      • Palmarosa is used as Rose oil substitute, or added to it to make it more economical
      • Add Palmarosa oil to a carrier and massage affected area to relieve pain.
      • In aromatherapy it is considered a relaxing and uplifting oil and is used to alleviate stress, exhaustion and nervousness.

      100% pure Palmarosa (Cymbopogon martinii) essential oil.


      There are no specific warnings, Palmarosa is listed as GRAS, but it is always advisable to do a skin sensitivity test, and to avoid during pregnancy unless used under professional supervision
