Spikenard essential oil is perhaps best known as the oil used by Mary to anoint the feet of Jesus before the Last Supper. Spikenard is very similar to Valerian (it can be used as a substitute) and its sweet woody aroma makes it a nice oil to add to soaps and bath oils, or crystals.

5 drops lavender

5 drops spikenard

Fractionated coconut oil

Intriguing Scent

I was curious about the metaphysical properties of spikenard oil after reading about it in the Bible. Although I can't prove or disprove scientifically whether the effects are real or imagined, one whiff of the oil has the ability to instantly uplift your mood.
