Flowers From My Meadow Snow Chrysanthemum Flowers are whole dried flowers of Coreopsis tinctoria, an unusually beautiful botanical with curled golden-orange petals and deep reddish-brown centres. Despite their common name, they are not true chrysanthemums, but a species of Coreopsis prized for both their striking appearance and the richly coloured golden to amber infusion they create in hot water. Their flavour is gently floral, naturally sweet and subtly earthy, making them lovely on their own or blended with complementary herbs and flowers. Beyond the teacup, the intact dried flower heads are beautiful in decorative botanical and pot-pourri blends.

♡ Why we love it: These little flowers are exquisite. We love how much character they have before they even reach the cup, from their warm jewel-like colouring to their delicate floral aroma, and then they transform again into a glowing golden-amber infusion.

Q: Is Snow Chrysanthemum actually a chrysanthemum?
A: No. Despite its common name, Snow Chrysanthemum is Coreopsis tinctoria, a member of the Asteraceae family. Traditional chrysanthemum teas are generally made from plants in the Chrysanthemum genus, so the two are not botanically interchangeable.

Q: Why aren't Snow Chrysanthemum Flowers white?
A: The name refers to the botanical rather than its colour. Coreopsis tinctoria naturally has golden-yellow to orange petals with deep reddish-brown or maroon colouring towards the centre, and drying can deepen these shades further.

Q: Can I steep the flowers more than once?
A: You can experiment with a second infusion while the flowers still have flavour and colour to release. Expect it to be lighter than the first cup.

Q: Can Snow Chrysanthemum Flowers be used in pot-pourri or dried arrangements?
A: Absolutely. Their intact flower heads and rich golden-orange and maroon colouring make them a beautiful addition to decorative dried-flower displays and pot-pourri blends.
