I was excited to get this for my rosacea and it arrived but as Im searching how to use this I discovered this is not true sandalwood, despite the name on the bottle saying Sandalwood. It is misleading to have the name “Sandalwood “ because it isnt even from the same family 👎
Hi Ielham,
Thank you so much for sharing your feedback — we're really sorry to hear that the oil wasn’t what you expected, especially if you were hoping to use it for a specific skin concern like rosacea.
The oil you received is Amyris balsamifera, commonly referred to as West Indian Sandalwood. While it has a scent profile similar to that of true sandalwood (Santalum album), it is a completely different botanical species. The supplier uses the more familiar name “Sandalwood” in their branding, which is quite common in the industry — but we completely understand how this could be confusing. Although the full botanical name is listed on both the product label and on our website, your point is well taken, and we’ve shared your feedback with our team to help us improve clarity for future customers.
Just a reminder for the future: we do offer a generous returns policy, and we’re always happy to assist with any questions or advice — whether before or after a purchase.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you’d like help finding something more suitable for your needs. We’re here to support you however we can.
Warm regards,
The Essentially Natural Team
Good quality essential Oil
Amazing product and super fast delivery
This is a great oil to use to add to creams or to use in the sauna, and much cheaper than most of the other sandalwood oils on the market. Great product.
I used it on my face cream, the smell is amazing
