INCI: Benzyl Alcohol (and) Dehydroacetic Acid

Saliguard BDHA, a like-for-like Geogard 221 alternative, offers broad spectrum protection against bacteria, yeast and mold growth in personal care products.

It is commonly used as a direct alternative to Geogard 221 as the ingredients are the same.

Sizes: 50ml, 100ml, 200ml, 500ml, 1L or 5L.

This product is certified: Vegan and Beauty Without Cruelty.

Usage: 0.5 - 1.1%

In the water phase or cool down phase at room temperature.

Formulation separated

I've added saliguard into my lotion, and the lotion immediately changed into runny texture, the following day water and oils separated, what have I done wrong?

Hi Precious, this sounds like a pH problem, where the lower pH of the preservative caused the lotion to split. This only happens when the lotion is already unstable. Unfortunately without knowing your formula its a bit difficult to troubleshoot what the exact issue is. But I recommend checking and adjusting your pH.
