It is a natural skin moisturiser (particularly good for dry skin), hair moisturiser and conditioner and also reduces protein loss when used in hair shampoos and conditioners. Coconut oil is an important base oil in soap making - coconut soap has wonderful lather and makes a good, hard bar.
