Faqs
Q: Why does batana butter have a strong natural scent?
A: Batana butter is raw and unrefined, so it keeps its naturally earthy aroma from the original fruit oil.
Q: Will it melt in warm weather?
A: Yes, like many natural butters it can soften or melt with heat and firm up again when cooler.
Q: Can I use it on fine hair?
A: It can be used, but start with a very small amount and focus on mid-lengths and ends to avoid weighing hair down.

The oil stains everything and I’m not seeing any difference on my hair.
First time I'm disappointed with a product from essentially natural. This is absolutely in no way pure and real batana. I've used batana pure before and have experienced what it feels and looks like.
This looks exactly like palm oil.
Raw batana smells like coffee kind of, and melts to penetrate to the skin. This one feels sticky, I don't want to put it on my hair.
Hi there Mosibudi,
Thank you for sharing your feedback - we’re sorry to hear that this product wasn’t what you expected.
We’d like to kindly clarify that the Batana we stock is a raw, unrefined Batana butter, produced from Elaeis oleifera fruit oil and solidified in its natural state.
As it undergoes no refining or deodorisation, natural variations in aroma, colour, and texture can occur between batches and sources. Differences in form between Batana products from various suppliers or processing methods can understandably lead to confusion.
Our Batana Butter is tested and verified, and its fatty acid profile and compounds align with those expected of authentic Batana. It softens and melts with body heat and is safe for use on both hair and skin.
Though, if this product isn’t what you were hoping for, we're happy to arrange upliftment for a credit in line with our returns policy. Should you wish, we can also provide documentation confirming authenticity - simply share the batch number from your product so we can reference the correct records.
We hope this helps, and please do let us know how you’d like to proceed. <3
Warm regards,
Team Essentially Natural
I wasn't aware of batana until a client asked me to add it to his beard balm. I then added it to my lip balm and and the result are fantastic. My daughter tried it on her hair, she calls it her gold.
