Some dreams take a little longer than others... One of ours has been on the list since we first started working with Fisantekraal Primary School in January 2022. And finally, after all these years, it has become a reality: the school kitchen has new shelving!
Now, we know what you’re thinking. Shelving? Really? But this is one of those seemingly small improvements that can make a very big difference.
The kitchen at Fisantekraal Primary prepares two meals a day for each of the school’s 1000 learners. That is a LOT of food, a LOT of ingredients and a LOT of pots, utensils and supplies to keep organised!
For years, the kitchen’s storage simply wasn’t up to the job, very much like the dinky old sink that we replaced earlier this year. The old cupboard wasn’t really suited to the kitchen’s needs. To make matters worse, it was quite literally falling apart!
So, our team got to work. First, we disassembled and removed the old cupboard. Then came the exciting bit: assembling the brand-new galvanised steel shelving, made possible by the generosity of Corlie De Kock and Essentially Natural.
And, because nobody wants a mountain of kitchen supplies coming crashing down, the shelves were securely fixed to the wall. Safety first!
It might not be the flashiest transformation we’ve ever been involved in, but it is one that was very, very needed.

We’re so thrilled that a dream we’ve been carrying since 2022 has finally been ticked off the list. Sometimes, making a difference really is about the little things. And sometimes, those little things come with shelves!
