Kojic acid is a well known skin lightener. It works by inhibiting melanin production in the skin, which helps to even skin tone, reduce pigmentation and gradually lighten the skin.
Kojic acid is ideally used in serums and creams.

How to use kojic acid
Recommended usage rate: 1%
Add to the cool down phase of your formulation. Dissolving can be aided by very gently heating the water (25-35C).
Use antioxidants such as Vitamin E and ferulic acid to stabilise kojic acid.
Kojic acid is sensitive to light and heat, so you will need to keep your formulations in protective and dark packaging.
