INCI: Ferulic acid

Ferulic acid is a powerful antioxidant and anti-ager that can neutralise free radicals.

Ferulic acid is well known as a stabiliser for Vitamin C, particularly when combined with Vitamin E. Skinceuticals (now owned by L'Oreal) has a patented formulation on these ingredients (so don't try to copy it or you may have lawyers knocking on your door!).

Usage rate: 0.1-2%.

Ferulic acid is slightly soluble in hot water, so add it to your heated water phase in formulations. It may not completely dissolve but will dissolve once all phases are combined (if making a moisturiser for example).
