Cream of Tartar is a highly-effective multi-use ingredient composed of the powder form of tartaric acid, a naturally occurring acid found in various fruits and plants and a common byproduct of the winemaking industry.
Cream of Tartar is a stabilising agent, and also works to create a smooth texture, add volume to products and assist with bubbles in bath bombs, for example. It is used in personal care products to also create aerated and fluffy textures that hold well.
Fun fact: cream of tartar and baking soda make up baking powder.

Cream of tartar uses
In bath bombs:
Substitute some citric acid for cream of tartar in bath bombs, for a harder, fizzier bomb. It also makes the water feel softer and silkier.
In bubbly products:
Combine with a a surfactant to create bubble bars.
In foods:
Cream of tartar is a stabiliser, and can help hold a meringue or souffle together.
Around the home:
Clean drains: use a 4:1 baking soda to cream of tartar ratio and pour it down the drain for a bubbling cleansing action. This can also help clean off rust
