Inulin is a prebiotic that supports the skin’s microbiome and skin-friendly bacteria which keep everything balanced. It offers moisturising properties, and is a natural humectant and conditioner.
Inulin is also a form of indigestible dietary fiber that makes one feel fuller for longer, helping control appetite and maintaining blood sugar levels. It is widely used in food as a sweetener and source of soluble fiber.
We love inulin primarily because it allows for a prebiotic in skincare! Using pre- and probiotics in skincare products is very on trend in the skincare industry currently.

Prebiotic Serum
2% inulin
96.5% hydrosol of choice
1% Geogard 221
0.5% allantoin (optional)
Optional: you can add a glycerite for colour
Measure out the ingredients and combine everything in a pipette or spritzer bottle. Inulin may take a bit of stirring to fully dissolve, if you find yourself struggling try heating the inulin and hydrosol mixture to help it along. Then shake well to mix in the preservative and the allantoin if using. Read more on our other water based serums in our blog.
Usage
1-2% in water phase added at cool down.
Inulin likes a pH range of 4.5-10, so keep this in mind when formulating.

As advertised
Inulin is a prebiotic. You know what it is. You don't need me to tell you. What you might need is a bit about who you are dealing with. Essentially Natural, luckily for me, have their office / Wearhouse just around the corner from were i live. So yes, they are legitimate. The pricing is good. the products are good.
Great price. Seems good quality(I've never used this before) If you are using it as a prebiotic, be sure to introduce slowly to your gut, otherwise all the fermenting in the colon can cause embarrassment later...
Inulin is an excellent prebiotic and Inulin powder made from chicory is the best. So this Inulin is an excellent quality at a very reasonable price compared to other sources. (We use Inulin, Green Banana Flour, Slippery Elm and Aloe Vera powder to make an excellent prebiotic mix at a very much lower price than what is available, usually in 300 gram tubs.)
Inulin is also a healthy natural sweetener. But it is not quite sweet enough. Mixed with some Stevia Powder it makes an excellent healthy sweetener. Stevia is also a healthy sweetener, but used neat it has a bitter aftertaste. But not when used with Inulin.
Delivery was fast and the price very competitive. Good news in respect of a product essential for my low carb bread.
