Essentially Natural Sodium Phytate is a natural chelating agent used to bind trace metal ions in water based formulations. By tying up metals that catalyse oxidation, it helps protect colour, fragrance, and sensitive actives, and can improve preservative performance and foam quality in hard water. A readily biodegradable alternative to EDTA, it suits shampoos, body washes, serums, toners, gels, and oil in water emulsions.

How to use
Usage rate:
In O/W emulsions: 0.05 - 2%
In rinse off products: 0.1 - 0.2%
Don't use in W/O emulsions.
Dissolve the sodium phytate into the water phase. Sodium phytate is best used with other antioxidants such as Vitamin E and ascorbyl palmitate.
NB: sodium phytate is a salt/electrolyte, and some ingredients do not tolerate electrolytes well. Avoid use with electrolyte-intolerant ingredients.
Storage
Store tightly closed in a cool, dry place away from heat and direct sunlight. Use clean utensils to avoid contamination.
