Essentially Natural Kaolin Clay is a soft, ultra-fine mineral clay prized for its gentle, oil-absorbing action and silky slip. It helps reduce the look of surface shine and leaves skin feeling smooth and comfortable. Mild enough for frequent use, it suits normal, dry, sensitive and mature skin types. In DIY projects it adds creaminess to soaps, structure to bath bombs and a natural white-to-off-white hue to cosmetics.

How to use
- As a Face Mask: Mix 2 tsp kaolin with 2 to 3 tsp water or hydrosol to a smooth paste, apply and leave 10 to 15 minutes, then rinse and moisturise.
- As a Comforting Mask: Replace part of the liquid with aloe gel, or add ½ to 1 tsp honey or 1 tsp yoghurt for extra slip.
- As a Soap Additive: Add 1 to 3% of total oils for creamier lather and better glide.
- As a Bath Bomb Ingredient: Use 10 to 20% of the dry phase to help harden.

Kaolin and Chamomile Mask
Chamomile is particularly soothing for hot, dry or irritated skin. It has a delicate lavender-ish scent and is cooling and calming. You can add in extras such as aloe vera, bulbinella or marshmallow root for additional soothing and healing properties.
2 T kaolin clay
3 T water or herbal infusion (you can make chamomile tea and use that)
2-3 drops chamomile essential oil
Optional: 1 teaspoon aloe vera powder / 1 teaspoon jojoba oil / 1 teaspoon marshmallow root powder / 1 teaspoon bulbinella extract
Thoroughly mix everything together, apply to clean skin and leave on for 10-15 minutes then rinse off with warm water and follow up with a moisturiser if necessary. You can find more fantastic mineral clay mask recipes on our blog.
