Dried Dong Quai Root is traditionally used to support women’s health - particularly during menopause and hormonal transitions and for experiences like hot flushes. It also acts as a mild sedative, laxative, diuretic, antispasmodic, and pain reliever.

Preparation
Decoction: 1-2 teaspoons of root in 1 cup of cold water. Bring to the boil and simmer gently for 10-15 minutes. Strain. Drink 2-3 times per day.

- Contains coumarin. Any person using anti-coagulant /blood thinning drugs should avoid using dong qui
- Not to be used during pregnancy
- Do not take together with St Johns wort
- May cause skin reactions and sensitivity to sunlight
- May accelerate female health related cancer as well as other viral infections such as herpes
