    Umuthi Clove Leaf Essential Oil

    Umuthi Botanicals Clove leaf essential oil (Syzygium aromaticum) will help with nausea and headaches, and is considered an antidepressant. It also makes for an excellent home disinfectant, and can be used to repel insects.

    Sizes: 10ml, 30ml, 100ml.


      • Clove has been used medicinally for centuries, but it is mostly the bud that most people are familiar with as this is widely used in cuisine
      • The oil from both cloves and leaves need to be used with caution as they are considered "hot" oils, and may cause skin irritation.
      • Clove leaf is used in commercial dental preparations, can be added to mouthwashes, as it has powerful antiseptic and antibacterial properties. It can also help relieve toothache as it has anti inflammatory properties.
      • Used in massage blends to relieve joint pain and sore muscles.
      • Clove leaf oil is good to use in the home as a disinfectant, and it will also repel insects.
      • Used in vapour therapy for all respiratory tract ailments, but in small doses as it can also irritate the sensitive mucous membrane in the nostrils
      • Breath in the vapour of this oil to reduce mental fatigue and drowsiness, an aid to long distance drivers.
      • Clove leaf oil is not commonly used in aromatherapy, whereas clove bud is.

      Eugenol, b carophylene, a humulene eugenol acetate.

      Botanical name:Syzygium aromaticum.

      Method: Steam.
      Colour: Light yellow.
      Consistency: Medium to thin.
      Aroma:Strong, spicy.

       

      • Should be used with some caution given this essential oils natural potency.
      • Always apply in a 1% dilution, and after a skin sensitivity test.
      • Not to be used for children or pregnant or breastfeeding women.

        Please remember: our couriers can only deliver to street addresses and they do not deliver to embassies, malls and chain stores, plots, farms, mines and to some outlying towns and townships. If our couriers can't deliver to your address we'll contact you to make alternative arrangements. There are no deliveries on weekends or public holidays. 

        One of our courier partners – The Courier Guy, CourierIt, Dawn Wing Express or FastWay - will deliver to your physical address, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. If you are at a business address during working hours then please register these details for your courier delivery unless someone is at home to sign for your parcel.

        If you live in a main city centre then approximate shipping time is 1-3 working days, nationwide. If you live in an outlying area delivery may take up to 7 working days. The shipping time of heavy goods, bulk purchases and to regional areas is generally 3-5 working days.

        *Late Deliveries

        Unforeseen circumstances like adverse weather, load shedding, hijacking, strikes, pandemics or supplier issues could prolong the delivery time. It's rare, but it can happen. Late delivery is not grounds for refund or cancellation of already shipped orders but if you are in any way concerned about the current location of your parcel and ETA of delivery, please contact us with your order number so that we can follow up for you.
