INCI: Hibiscus Rosa Sinensis

The national flower of several countries – including Malaysia and Haiti – Hibiscus is as useful as is beautiful. For centuries, it’s been used as a natural dye, a rejuvenating tea, and even a hair rinse. A staple in Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine, this sour tea originates from East Asia, where it was prized for supporting heart health, balancing blood pressure, and aiding liver function. Its tart teas were also used topically to brighten the skin, reduce dandruff, calm irritation, and boost shine and hair growth.

♡ Why we love it: Hibiscus brews one of the most strikingly vibrant teas, making it a favourite for both beauty and wellness. It’s rich in anthocyanins (which give its vivid colour and antioxidant strength), flavonoids, mild fruit acids like citric and malic acid, vitamin C, and soothing mucilage for hydration. Together, these actives help protect cells from oxidative stress, promote circulation, support liver detoxification, ease digestion, and nurture a youthful glow. In skincare and haircare, Hibiscus encourages collagen production, strengthens hair, enhances shine, and reduces redness or dryness.

Note: The finess (how small the particles are) of a botanical powder very much depends on the botanical in question. Certain botanicals, such as this one, cannot achieve a very fine powder grade. Rest assured however that the product has been ground to as fine a grade as is possible.
