Escentia African Green Clay (Bentonite) has been extracted from the richest known deposit. The healing properties of this amazing clay can be helpful for skin problems such as acne, eczema and psoriasis. Its anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties can provide first aid relief to cuts, burns and insect bites. As a poultice it can be used to treat sprains and bruises.

Bentonite clay is formed from volcanic ash found in different parts of the world. Originally its highest concentration was found in Benton, Wyoming, hence the name ‘bentonite’. This soft, absorbent clay has been used for centuries to treat medical conditions ranging from wounds to skin conditions.

African Clay Mask

A wonderful purifying mask for problem skin.

2 T African green clay

2 drops frankincense essential oil

1 tsp nettle powder

1 tsp aloe vera gel

1 tsp bulbinella extract


Add water as needed to make a paste.

Blend the ingredients together, apply to clean skin and leave on for 10-15 minutes then rinse off with warm water and apply a moisturiser if necessary. Read more on our mineral clay masks on our blog.
