Dried Senna Pods are mostly used as a powerful cathartic in the treatment of constipation. (It stimulates the intestinal peristalsis, triggering bowel movement some 12 hours later.)

How to use
Steep 3-6 pods in warm water for 10 – 15 min – hot infusion
or
Steep in cold water for 6 – 8 hours – cold infusion.

Warnings
- Do not use for longer than 10 days. Always remember that constipation is the cause of something else and the cause of this should be sought and dealt with.
- Habitual use will cause lazy bowel syndrome.
- Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
- Overdose can lead to painful stomach cramps and diarrhea.
- It can be corrected with 1/4 amount of a stomachic herb like ginger or fennel seeds with the dose.
- May cause contact dermatitis.
- Can cause nausea, vomiting, and may lead to inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract.
