Elderberries are dried Sambucus nigra berries with a deep colour and a tangy, fruity character when simmered. They are commonly used in teas, syrups, cordials, and kitchen recipes that benefit from a rich berry note. Elderberries are typically prepared with heat, which deepens flavour and supports traditional preparation methods.
