Umuthi Beetroot Sprouting Seeds

Beetroot seeds are light coloured, rough textured seeds. They produce bright red sprouts which have a mild earthy taste, wonderful colour, and grow into beautiful lime green microgreens with deep red veins. Add to salads, sandwiches, as a garnish or enjoy on their own.

One of the favourite sprouts in health circles, beetroot seeds are reported to increase oxygen uptake at the cellular level, reduce blood pressure and protect the cardiovascular system.

Sizes: 50g, 300g or 1kg (Vac Pack).

INCI: Beta vulgaris

    • Grow your own; sprouting seeds.
    • Add to salads, sandwiches, as a garnish or enjoy on their own.
    • Very low in saturated fat and cholesterol
    • Good source of vitamin C, Iron and Magnesium
    • Very good food source of dietary fibre, Folate, Potassium and Manganese
    • Vacuum packed for total freshness
    • Natural and untreated
    • Non-GMO

Germination: 6-8 days depending on growing conditions

Tips: Make sure your soaking water is slightly warm, or at the very least kept at room temperature (especially if weather conditions are cold) as cold water may shock the seeds. Ensure your rinsing water is also not too cold as cold water may slow down the germination process. We recommend keeping the seeds in a warm place while they sprout too. And don't harvest too soon: they can take anywhere from 6 to 12 days.

I have a very professional sprouting device and was very disappointed that only five of the sprouts showed a sign of life

Beetroot

I am very disappointed in the beetroot seeds. They took a long while to show any life and then only 3 sprouted out of about 200 seeds. Alfalfa did well.

Great

I bought this being sooo excited because it's a struggle to get beet greens. I got confused by the instructions on the packaging, so it would be great if you could have a blog post with simplified instructions. I am still looking forward to growing them lol once I figure it out.

I love the service
