Continuing our partnership with Alani Nel from Canvasations, The One Percent Movement joined forces to bring joy and inspiration to the 240 grade 1 students of Fisantekraal Primary School on Mandela Day. We were also joined by a very special guest: Vusi the Worm!
Alani's delightful creation - a warm and adventurous creature with a fabulous personality - Vusi captivated the children with a story about why we are all one of a kind. The children listened in awe as Vusi shared his tale, emphasising that our differences are what make us special.
After the story, the excitement continued as each child chose a small stone, lovingly hand-painted with a heart by our team. These stones, adorned with their unique fingerprints, serve as constant reminders to be kind and celebrate their individuality. This activity was not only fun but also deeply meaningful, creating personal and lasting symbols of their uniqueness.
We are incredibly grateful to Alani Nel for her inspiring collaboration and to Elana Fick for volunteering her time and energy, making the day even more special for everyone involved.
The day was a beautiful blend of storytelling, creativity, and important life lessons, perfectly embodying the spirit of Mandela Day. At The One Percent Movement, we believe in the power of small acts of kindness to create lasting impact. Stay connected with us for more stories of hope, creativity, and community as we continue to make a difference, one unique fingerprint at a time!
