African Potato is a medicinal herb that, despite its name, belongs to the Lily Family. This bitter plant originates in Southern Africa, where it was deeply woven into Khoisan healing practices. Enjoyed as a tea or mixed as a powder into food, African Potato was used for stomach pain, muscle aches and endurance tonics – and when mashed, it was applied directly to wounds. Today, science affirms its richness in active compounds, cementing its role in modern health.
♡ Why we love it: African Potato contains powerful sterols and antioxidants, making it effective at reducing inflammation and giving the immune system a lift. It also helps digestion and offers gentle detox support – especially useful for those with the occasional upset tummy.
