INCI: Sodium cocoyl isethionate

A solid surfactant, sodium cocoyl isethionate (SCI) powder is one of the most gentle anionic surfactants available and is a key ingredient in shampoo bars. It produces creamy abundant lather and has a luxurious skin feel.

Sodium cocoyl isethionate powder is great for use in detergent bars, shampoo bars, soaps, shower gels and other surfactant formulas.

Maximum 49.87% in rinse-off applications and 17% in leave-on applications. Don’t go over the maximum usage amount.

NB: Please ensure you wear a dust mask and goggles when working with this ingredient! Work in a well ventilated area.

To melt SCI, add the powder to a beaker and microwave in 10 second increments, stirring between each increment until fully melted. Then use quickly as it will soon start to re-solidify.
