Eucalyptus, known as Blue Gum, is the most commonly used and economical of the Eucalyptus oils. It is reported to hold antiseptic, antimicrobial and antiviral properties, having a positive effect on arthritis, bronchitis, catarrh, cold sores, colds, coughing, fever, flu, poor circulation, and sinusitis. It is also claimed to alleviate common lung ailments. Eucalyptus is also used as an insect repellant.
