Have you sometimes found yourself considering natural solutions but felt paralysed over the uncertainty of ‘what, and how to use it’? In the past, we've found ourselves guilty as charged of buying that cheap import; wanted to use those green products but found ourselves worrying, ‘do they actually work’? We've felt powerless to affect the size of of the carbon footprint we're leaving; and too felt conflicted by an endless stream of advertising pointing us in so many opposing directions.
Our journey began in earnest after another dearly loved one was lost to cancer. It has been a remarkable journey of discovery of natural solutions and products that promote health and well-being.
We would love to share what we have learnt. We want to provide a platform for the truly wonderful products we have discovered. We hope to help every one of us to live life as naturally as possible, without causing harm to ourselves, other people, animals or the earth.
The girls behind the scenes:
1 November 2012, my husband and best friend, Steph and Brad’s Dad, died of stomach cancer. His diagnosis six months prior catapulted me onto a journey of trying to help him and to protect my family from this dreadful disease.
The only thing I know for sure, nearly two years later, is that cancer is UNnatural. I firmly believe that the toxic brew of chemicals we put in our food, on our bodies and in our homes, has become a friend to illness. I am officially un-friending!
Qualifications and expertise? Mom of a tween and a teen. Passionate natural-life–wannabe.
I do promise to share everything I learn on my journey – I hope you’ll join me.
I studied pharmacy at Rhodes University but upon completion of my community service a sense of disillusionment with the pharmeceutical profession saw me return to my true passion, born out of an interest I had held since a very young age: Homeopathy.
I studied Homeopathy at DUT in Durban. The 5 year degree provides a professional training as a primary contact healthcare professional. The M.Tech(hom) is a full-time medico-scientific course which includes a medical training as well as training in both classical and clinical homeopathic practice.
After completion of my post-graduate internship I returned to the Western Cape. I had a practice in Paarl for a number of years while still working part time as a pharmacist in the public health sector. I am now a mom with 2 small children and work from home with Essentially Natural.
I am very passionate about Homeopathy, which is always my first port of call for treating any ailment!
Apart from my interest in homeopathy I try to lead as toxin free existance as possible. This encompassess diet as well as external exposure to things like soaps, creams and cleaning materials, particularly when it comes to my children.
We are here because we want to promote exceptional - tried and tested - products that are completely free of harmful ingredients (in this case, less really is more!). Our goal is to provide an online home that caters to your concerns, needs, and desire for health solutions and products that are just plain good for you.
We are so proud to present our ‘considered alternative’. (Just when did people, animal and earth-friendly remedies and solutions become considered alternative?) And since you are here we know that you will find something that reflects our shared values and passions, our small way to make the world a better, healthier, place.
