This fresh (sweet and citrusy) smelling essential oil is great for creating a more relaxed, confident and happy feeling. Bergamot pure essential oil is used to lift the spirits and reduce stress.

Bergamot is one of those must have in the medicine cabinet essential oils because its antibacterial, antiseptic, anti-infectious and anti-parasitic properties make it a great germ killer. It’s also an analgesic, an antidepressant, and a mild sedative.

  • Burners and steamers – add a few drops to the water and inhale directly or allow the steam to scent the air
  • Blend 5-6 drops into a carrier oil for massage oil
  • Add 10 drops to your bath
  • Add 10 drops to a base such as Jojoba, to treat skin problems such as; cold sores, psoriasis and eczema. Bergamot essential oil is also recommended for treating boils, blisters and abscesses. This solution should also help with acne, scabies and even chicken pox. You could treat wounds and cuts also, but I would add 3 drops of tea tree oil as well
  • Can help in treating vitiligo. Just add a few drops of bergamot oil into a moisturising oil and apply it to your skin’s infected area. For best results, apply two to three times daily

100% pure Bergamot essential oil (Citrus bergamia).

This pure essential oil can be useful for dogs, but take great care and always dilute. It is good for cleaning ears or helping with infection in dogs. Diluted with water or a carrier oil, bergamot is a soothing oil that can help relax your pets. However some essential oils (particularly citrus oils like Bergamot) can be harmful to cats, so it is advisable to check with your vet before use.

  • Not recommended for direct use on children less than 5 years of age. However, a few drops in a candle or burner will affect the general mood positively.
  • Minor skin irritation may occur (dilution is recommended).
  • Avoid direct sunlight or ultraviolet light for up to 72 hours after use.
  • This natural product is for external use only. Please exercise caution and do not ingest or take internally. Store away from children, animals, sunlight and heat. If pregnant or breastfeeding, please consult with your medical care-giver before use.

BERGAMOT OIL FOR SINUS AND NASAL POLYPS

After a few years of suffering from chronic sinus infections somebody suggested I use Bergamot Essential oil, but I have to inhale it through my nose. I took a Vicks Eucalyptus Inhaler stick and added 5 drops of Bergamot to it. I started sniffing it twice a day. By the 2nd week I started to feel a difference. No more polyp movements in my nasal cavities and my sinus headaches cleared up. I have been without sinus problems for almost a year now. I don't know whether it is the combination of Bergamot and Eucalyptus that did the trick, so I keep on topping up my Vicks inhaler stick with both oils. It might work for you, it might not. If it does not work, experiment with other oils until you find a mix that works! Be careful not to inhale to deeply in the beginning, it will end up in a lot of sneezing!

Wow, this is so interesting, thanks for sharing Verona! So glad it worked for you.
