Traditionally, tea made from Dried Senna Leaves has been used for a wide variety of inflammatory conditions, including headaches, fevers, and inflammation of joints and tissues.
As a tea, this powerful beverage supports colon health by stimulating regular bowel movements and aiding in toxin elimination. As with any potent plant, use Senna with respect and caution. Long-term use can lead to dependency or electrolyte imbalances.

How to use
- Steep the dried leaves (1tsp) or 3-6 pods in warm water for 10 – 15 min – hot infusion
- Steep in cold water for 6 – 8 hours – cold infusion .
- Powder (1/4tsp) as purgative
- Tincture: take 2-4 ml of the tincture taken before bed
Warnings
- Do not use for longer than 10 days. Always remember that constipation is the cause of something else and the this should be sought and dealt with.
- Habitual use will cause lazy bowel syndrome.
- Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
- Overdose can lead to painful stomach cramps and diarrhea.
- It can be corrected with 1/4 amount of a stomachic herb like ginger or fennel seeds with the dose.
- May cause contact dermatitis.
- Can cause nausea, vomiting, and may lead to inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract.
